Constant Volume Specimen Die Cutter – For cutting MDR ODR Rheometer and Rubber Samples
Constant Volume Specimen Die Cutter – For cutting MDR ODR Rheometer as per ASTM D 5289:
As per ASTM D 5289, the adequacy of the test specimen's size is confirmed when a small bead of rubber compound is uniformly extruded around the edges of the dies upon closure (ranging from 116% to 160% of the test cavity volume). For an apparatus with a test cavity volume of 3.44 cm3, this criterion is satisfied when the test specimen volume measures between 4.0 and 5.5 cm3. Using undersized test specimens can lead to low cavity pressure and diminished torque readings. Conversely, oversized specimens excessively cool the dies during the initial test phase, influencing vulcanization traits.
The default configuration of the Volumetric Cutter produces MD Rheometer test samples with a volume of 4.8 cm3. Upon ordering, customization options are available to tailor the setup for sample volumes within the 4.0 to 5.5 cm3 range.
Constant Volume Specimen Die Cutter – For cutting as per ASTM D1646:
According to ASTM D1646, the test specimen is composed of two pieces of the material under evaluation, combined to form a volume of 25 cm3. This volume is approximately 1.5 times the volume of the test cavity (1.45 times for a small rotor, 1.67 times for a large rotor), ensuring complete cavity filling.
The default Volumetric Cutter configuration generates test samples with a volume of 12.5 cm3. During the order process, you have the option to request a customized setup for sample volumes ranging from 12 to 13 cm3.
